FTFF Gathering Officer

Have a new to me Colorado XT. Is it necessary to have it registered with Calif DMV. What is the cost and I sometimes will only use the oars. Is there a difference?

Great question.
I had just assumed that no motor equalls no registration.
I know stand up paddle boards and kayaks do not need to be registered.

Welcome to the forum, reshultz!  

Jerdon is right - no motor = no registration. However, if a vessel has a motor, it does need to be registered. 

Your state motor vehicles department will have all the info - if you're in California, it's here -[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
