ok friends here's the scoop I fished Perris today on a friends bass boat and have some news to pass along... there are no bed fish yet or too few to even talk about.. the majority of the quality fish are all over the east side... we caught over a dozen in a short time... as for bernosconi we fished that area too and even though we caught 5 fish there they were all 13" or less... I spoke to the park agent there that does the boat inspections and he told me they dont check the tubes and toons.... there were tow tubers there at the east end and they were ripping the bass.. so its up to you but i suggest launching at the ramps and fishing the east end

thanks for the tips..

I've never been there, or even done any float tube or lake fishing. But i'm looking at the Google Maps, and that looks like a L-O-N-G way from Bernasconi road, where we are meeting, right? It looks like across the lake on the opposite side of that island. Unless I'm looking at this satellite picture wrong.

Anyways, I'm ok with small bass. I'll be happy if I catch anything! Just looking forward to trying out my float tube and meeting people. Thanks again for the post.

I too believe the east end will be more productive this time of year as my past experience has shown me for this time of year. Bernasconi is better August September when it is really hot. Early year east end, later Bernasconi. Calmer warmer waters, no boats and more fish.
just my $.02.
Launch from lots 11-12 and head east to where the fish are this time of year.
