the hobies are very nice but they come with a price tag of a used boat.
the best bang for the buck would be corba fish N dive. you can pick one up fully loaded and ready to fish for as low as $600.00.
thats kayak, FF, live well/bait tank, cart etc

Thanks miller. I have been watching CL for these. I really like the Stealth 14. I just don't like the price tag. I'm also looking at the X-Factor. I really want a big guy yak. I know the right deal will come along I just need to be patient. Right now with help from you guys (thanks Wink) I'm in the education process so I can make a really good choice.

Also under consideration is the Malibu 2 but it in no way has the bells and whistles these others do. It's hard to not look at all the gear going into the buy. When you add up that stuff you know you will spend so much more.

Great looking out man I appreciate it greatly!

Agree! I've researched it a lot. Before I discovered float tubes. The mirage drive hobies are great, but expensive. Plus the tandem ones are a bit heavy and cumbersome handling it solo. The cobra fish-n-dive is very stable, esp for big guys. Not super quick.. but that's the trade off. You can even install a motor, and still come out way less than the hobie. I'd love to have a kayak, but I don't hav garage space and wife says no (for now).

I was gonna say pelican too but not sure eather,One thing I know is, this is design for scuba divers with a regulator call "hooka" you leave your tank on the back straped, and then you have a low pressure 60 feet long hose to dive.

I'm guessing either a cobra or a malibu model. When you check out kayaks check the bottom to see if the hull has been distorted from improper storage... like this one above will have a flat spot if it's been stored too long on that little table, it should have been flipped over on it's deck.

If distorted some yaks are permanently screwed and some can be fixed with a heat gun.
