Texas fisherman / enormous alligator gar

I just came across this and he was bow fishing,
I am also blown away that the biggest Gar caught on rod and reel was 279 but that there have been now 2 300+ gars caught by Bow fishing

wtf thats thing is big and thats crazy his dog saved him from goin into the water haha my dog would never do anything like that

I just saw that thing on Yahoo. All I'm wondering is how did he fillet that beast... with a machete or chainsaw?

Bleh Gar... will eat and clean out everything in a lake. There are actually some in Woodbridge Lake in Irvine my friend has caught some small ones and sent me picts because he didn't know what the heck it was.

I have heard there is some good bass fishing in that lake.

Its pretty crazy to know that somehow those Fish find thier way into our lakes,I actually found one(I bielieve tiger musky)in a city park lake hanging around a bunch of carp.It was about 2 to 2.5ft long.i was actually able to catch it on a spinner bait type lure,unfortunately it shook off at the waters edge and no proof of the catch....
