Got to the LAB at 545am with high hopes of hooking into some toads. This time I tried out a portion of the LAB that I have never been to before so I was excited. I geared up and headed to the water. When I was launching, I looked over and saw another fellow tuber that was launching a few streets down. We both launched and exchanged greetings on the water. It was Manuel (Nice meeting you). We briefly discussed our plan of attack and made our way out. We get to the fuel station and I make a few casts and BAM! first fish of the day.

After that we continue working the area for nada. We relocate and keep working our way inward.
I look over and Manuel keeps getting slammed over and over. Unfortunately, most of those slams were short bites. There were a few times when he would get slammed and his swimmy would come back missing a tail. From what I saw, he did manage to catch a calico. Not sure if he landed anything else since at times we had some distance between us.
That was it for me. Just that one sandy on my OTS/Hook-r combo too boot!
The best part was when it was time to come back in. We thought mother nature wanted to cooperate with the tide and help us back in. Boy were we wrong. The tide wasn't too strong but that wind was ripping! There were a couple of times where I thought I wasn't even moving at all. It took us about one full hour of straight kicking to get back to land.
Oh, and as for that thunderstorm...it was nonexistent.
