Wanted to share a rod holder I built for my Fishcat. This is a super simple and easy solution for a rod holder. With that in mind I have 3 disclaimers:
1. I only fish with 1 rod at a time, so a holder is not a big necessity for me
2. I had all the materials already laying around the garage
3. I was bored and needed to keep myself busy,,,
If you don't already have the materials, I would recommend purchasing a manufactured holder, I think there like $20 most places.
Parts:
8 inches of 11/2 inch PVC
6 inches of 11/2 inch PVC
45 degree elbow 11/2 inch
Duct tape
1/2 inch nylon strap from Walmart $3 (comes with pressure clasp)
I used standard tools mostly but I did use a dremmel tool to cut and smooth out the reel insert.
Not fancy but it gets the job done
Let me know what you think or if you have any questions
