I finally got my replacement bladder for my odc 420 and had to go tubing. I hit up the lab around 430pm to 800pm I pretty much got skunked but felt good to be back on the water again. Their was a lot of boat traffic for some reason and a weird glow in the water every time I kicked and reeled in my lure anybody know why?

It's good to know you're back out on the water. You just reminded me that I have a tiny leak in my bladder...

and the glow is Bioluminescent Plankton. I first saw it a Huntington Harbor and had a blast playing in it lol!

lol! ... You guys think that glow can scare away fish because of the glowing lure and line trail that it makes?

When I was fishing in those conditions I still caught some fish. Although, the glow wasn't as noticeable as you described your experience. I only saw the glow when I was kicking.

I was reading up on the bio luminescent plankton and from what I read, it said that the glow is a defense to deter predators. With that being said, if your lure was also causing the glow, it might deter it. Then again, there are glow in the dark lures and lead heads...

I wouldn't say it scares them away but yes it dose shut down the fishing making it for long slow night of fishing.
