Some ppl do I'm planning on getting some because I don't want my stocking foot getting warn out from walking and the fins rubbing on it and if you wanna launch from a rock or spot that has lots of gravel those shoes will help

I used to, but when I got my new hot spot fins, they felt too bulky and heavy with my neoprene dive boots. I decided to try some of those cheap pull over low cut aqua socks with a thin rubber sole. They feel much better in the water and keep my waders protected.

I'm going to see if I can find a pair locally so I can try them on with my waders and test the fit with my dive fins. I wear a size 11 shoe but I'm guessing I will probably have to go with a size 12-13 neoprene boots so it will fit over my waders. Not too sure how well they will fit into the dive fins though. Anyway.....HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!

I also wear a size 11 in regular shoes, but when i bought my wader boots, they gave me size 10.i guess thier sized differently.they fit perfectly inside my Dive Fins(i use tusa imprex).

Where can I get those aqua socks? I just picked up some hot spot fins as well and I see what you mean. The booties under haven't been bad for me but if I can get something less bulky that would be sweet.

I ordered the Mares (1st photo) from Amazon. With shipping they were right about $25 and they work good.

A few days later I found the ones in the 2nd photo at Walmart in he clearance section for $4!!! They work better than the Mares because they have more support in the sole which also means more protection when your launching from rocky areas like the jungle or places with a long walk like Perris.

Hope this helps

Might want to check out surfing and wind surfing shops for for some decent low profile shoes with soles.

I picked up a pair of o'neill reactor reef boots for around $25 at my local shop. They work great and super light. I use mine with hotspot fins.

Thanks for the info!

Picked up a pair at wal-mart last night and tried them out this morning for a few hours on the tube. I definitely like them more than my booties (with the hot spot fins)....with other fins I never had a problem but with the hot spots it is definitely more comfortable.

I wish they went up to my ankles though....didn't have any problems today but after some time I'm afraid the strap will begin to dig into the neoprene stockings on my waders...

On the ones that I posted the image of, they have extra rubber on the back of the shoe. You can see it in the pic. That's where the strap lands with the hotspots. They are also narrow enough to work well with the hotspots. I use to have some BPS type shoes with the zipper on the side and they had way too much rubber on the sides to fit into the hotspots.

Average neoprene booties (ankle high or calf high) go for under 30 from what I've seen. How much under depends on what kind you want.
