Yes.

I believe the "Seaguar" knot originated this way. Most people tie fluro to braid but this is not a rule.

I tie fluro leaders to mono via the above mentioned knot, the blood knot and even the uni/uni. Make sure the lines are wet when you cinch it down (general rule).

Fluro leaders on swivel applications make sense too.

At one time I did but now everything is connected to braid

yeah i use mono for 90% of my applications. fluoro leader when the bite gets tough.

and waxon is on point, the blood knot is the smallest knot to tie and its my personal favorite

If your using 50lb braid and its still getting pinch in the line on the spool it's due to the line in your spool being loose. I have never had a problem using 40,50 and up

Actually the only real explanation i can think of.. Is when u loosen that little circular cover behind the drag star to get a better freespool it causes more side to side slide on the spool.. Therefore creating a gap between the spool and inner frame big enough for almost any line to get pinched.. Try tightening a bit.. I can almost guarantee u will not get pinched.. And honestly u are not going to be sacrificing much casting distance... I actually learned this on a jig stick running 30lb mono.. Tryna reach out to the salad with a candy bar!!.. Use to loosen the hell outa the spool so i can get the extra yardage!! Twisted Evil

x3 on the Power Pro. It costs a little more, but I have some thats several years old, never had a problem with it. And it doesn't pinch like that spiderwire crap does. I used that for one trip on an Abu Garcia, and I threw it right in the trash as I got off the water.
