I have been to Murray, it is a big lake and never saw a gator but it is still southern SC and I am sure they are there. LOL
Youre concern is welcome, Capt. Ray.
Ive fished Murray for years, and I've yet to see a gator. I've never even heard of one. It is reomtely possible that one could come up from Marion/Moultrie, make it beyond the dam and get in the lake. But, Murray is privately owned and developed - the people who live there wouldnt tolerate gators spoiling their expensive "lake living" experience.
In Florida, they are part of the landscape. I lived there, too, and I saw them all the time. But after kayaking Murray for several years now, the only scary thing I've seen are some rather large gar fish. I rarely even see snakes.
Now that Ive said this, I'll probably be overrun with snakes and run smack into the only alligator to ever appear in Lake Murray.
And I have you to thank for it. LOL
