I'm thinking about putting a FF on my cumberland tube. scratch  I know I dont want to pack around a big 12v battery.  Is it a big deal to make a small battery pack to run 12v?  Say something that uses AA batteries and that can be made watertight?

I would like to use one of my FF from my boat and not have to buy a new one, so I just need another transducer, and temp sensor to mount to the rod rack on the tube.

Any ideas guys?

Thanks and good fishing!

AA is great since it's easily recharge, pack, and go. You got the mounter for it:

However, I went crazier and get myself a 14.8V LiOn and LiPO packs, and spend a few more bucks on the 14 gauge tail connectors.

Enough power to power up all my electronic equipment for the entire day.

i run my echo 150 on 8 aa battery holder from radio shack

part # 2700387 just add a 9 v connector lead and you have 12 v power
for about $8
my echo has run 5 hours without any issues and i have some battery power left if you used lithium aa s you would probably get much longer run time but in my float tube 5-6 hrs is all i fish so it works for me

if you would like to see pics of my setup feel free to email me and ill send you some pics of the whole rig works great
