I have the Fishing Buddy.. it's ok. I probably don't know how best to use the info. Are you fishing on Sat? I'll be bringing it. Not that you really need it at the LAB, but mainly just to check it out, make sure it's still working after being in storage and knocked around a bit during a house move, and also to check out my new fish finder arm on my Lolly rod rack. If you want to try it, come out tomorrow night and find me.

well, I think it's pretty accurate on TEMP and DEPTH, and bottom structure.. it marks fish, but I've never confidently actually CAUGHT a fish in a spot that was marked with a fish... so I don't know. See you Sat

I know my Garman 100 is as far as temp and reading the bottom. Still learning the fish reading part.
I can tell you when I'm over hard bottom, sand or eel grass.
Btw- I have the head unit up for sale Thumbs Up

Squidy, I chose the Fish Buddy 120 for my first ff, partially from seeing it in members pics on here, and also the reviews are ok for it for the price. I can tell you that it does work for temp, structure, and fish ID (as long as the fish are holding), not real good for reading cover unless its dense. I'm not a fan of the sidefinder view cuz it's always tellin me moby dick is 43' right in front of me, but I have caught fish below me that it marked. Hope this helps with your accuracy question.

Squidy..If you want more accuracy I'd go along with Miller and get one similiar to his. If you want something thats really accurate, spend more..Not saying ones in the hundred dollar bracket don't work.. I had two different boats, one 14ft, the other 18. Two differnt FF, Way different prices. the extras on the 18 ft were really cool..but I rarely used em..It's probably just me, but I caught just as many fish either way. If I could, I'd get one like the "echo" for my tube. I also have an inflatable that I was thinkin about gettin the FB for.. Only reason being is the simplicity of mounting it.. You'd have to see my inflatable to see what I mean.. Hopefully you'll get a better idea after seein some of the ones they have at the gathering... Thumbs Up

I bought a Humminbird 385ci for 200 and is so awesome! Color gps split screen chart ploting. Throwin 90+ dollar swimbaits your fish finders gotta accurate or you loose baits on hidden structure low end graphs dont pick up. This graphs jus the high end model in the low end class of graphs not to say its a cheapie but for the money its very accurate! I use it on my boat but gunna mount it to my tube here shortly.

Humminbird 718, with quad transducer. Freaking accurate. However, wish I could spend another $100 and get the Lowrance Elite, and if possible with DSI. You can find quite a few Lowrance on Craiglist with DSI, same for Humminbird. DSI is excellent to search for hidden structure with pure clarity. It was way out of my budget a few years back.
