Last Friday I ran down to the rocks for a quick sesh before work. Boils were everywhere so I was stoked but later on I found out it was Lizards chasing the bait fish. I was amazed the first time I saw a lizard getting some air while chasing the bait fish but now it's just down right annoying. The lizards seem to be in full force lately. All the years I've been fishing Long Beach, I don't think I've ever seen them this active & abundant.
I kept getting tapped & bumped but nothing was committing to go kamikaze on my lure. After paying attention I realized it was my lure that was bumping the thick schools of baitfish. I said F it and accepted that I was going to go to work with the stripe on my back. Lately when it starts getting slow, I start practicing my left handed casting. I've been trying to get that dialed in since it gets necessary sometimes. I do a left handed cast parallel to the rocks to the right of me and BAM I get this little guy. My one and only fish for the day.

After releasing this guy I am getting ready to relocate & hear something that I thought was a seal. I though "crap there goes my day" then I looked up and it turns out it was a dolphin. I've seen some dolphin pretty close in before but I have never seen a dolphin in this area before. The thing that tripped me out the most was that it was within casting distance from the rocks. I just watched the dolphin swim around for a bit and went off to work.
