So what's everyone's line preference and test line while fishing for SBB?

I'm trying to find a line that doesn't have much memory. I usually fish P-Line green but was noticing that there is a lot of line memory. Anyone else noticed that with
P-Line?

Izorline XXX. Best line for the money IMO, and it's cheap!

Depends on what line I currently have on hand to spool up with: big game, izorline XXX or suffix siege.

Big game is cheap, but get's frayed pretty easily. However, I've landed huge fish on light line without issue..needless to say, line is a little stretchy but decent diameter.

Izorline XXX: Good median between the three, currently, reels are all spooled up with this

Suffix Siege: great line and holds up extremely well. However, line memory seems to be a problem after a few uses. If I had a choice, I'd fish exclusively this, but it's not all that cheap for a mono.

P-line xtra tough (green) never had an issue. Pulled tuna, home guard yellows, calicos and toothy cudas. That's my go-to

For low memory line, I enjoy Berkley Trilene and it's Big Game version. Always worked for me.

I'm with Mikeotunakiller, Berkley Big Game, start with 10 or 15 #.
Then I'll go to 20# or add flouro leaders if conditions get wacky.

I use izorline xxx anywhere from 6#-15# and also have setups with full spool of 30# braid with 15# seaguar leader.

izorline xxx for me, 10, 12 and 15lb pretty much covers it for bay fishing.

Trilene in 10lb works awesome for the SBB. I have caught the SBB on the same line in 8lb test, but there were no rocks at that spot. If there are rocks around consider the 10-12lb

Looks like a lot of you guys are fishing izorline XXX and fishing heavier line than I am. I guess I'm fishing too lite lol.....

Right now I'm pretty much rigged with 6 and 8lb p-line cxx. Next time out I'm going to try spooling up with 10 lb izorline xxx.

When you start throwing big baits deep into mussel covered piling structure and get that 3 plus pound spottie of your dreams to smash your lure you will be happy that you had 50# braid on your reel that day....

BFJ.... Yeah I'm thinking about spooling 50# braid with a 10 or 15lb top shot on it.

Like bayfishingjunkie said, Braid is pretty helpful. I rig it on all my saltwater outfits I use when going out for White Sea bass, yellowtail, tuna, halibut. Then, As I mentioned earlier I use mono topshot of berkley big game. If i'm in heavy kelp I use straight braid to short top shot of fluorocarbon.
