Float Tube Fanatics Jess Ranch Lake Great Fish Off is in the books

Hey first I would like to say it was great fishing with such cool people, I think I could say we all had a pretty good time.  Second I would like to thanks Float Tube Fanatics for there donation of 3 fish finder mounts as prizes. The day started with no real issues other than me forgetting my rod   But the weather while hot was nice and the water while small was pretty cool.  Big winner, Vagabond biggest fish with a nice Trout he took the U1 mount, and MikeOtunakiller with I think a total of 13 fish before lunch took the U3 mount.  The people at Jess Ranch were pretty cool, and I would say I think I could do that again.  Sorry I had to leave early but as soon as I got home I feel asleep   , I feel better 1:30 sleep is not good before an event like this

WTG guys, wish I could have made it.

This was a great event I enjoyed meeting everyone i caught 8 bass, 2 Trout & lost a few. I only fished a little bit after lunch left a little early. This was my first float tube trip this year I'm glad I went I had a great time.

It was a great day. So happy we got to do this and meet everyone. It was a really fun day of fishing. There is Nothing better than surrounding your self with great people while fishing. Thanks again Jeff. Last update, I ended the day with 13 bass.

Looks like a good time was had by all! Great outing guys. Looking forward to more pics. Wish I could have made this one. Hopefully this is not the last one.

I don't think it is the last one in fact maybe we could set up a winter trout session over there.

Glad everyone had a fun time fishing! How did the tube accident occur?

Tube accident after it started getting hot Charley decided to let a little air out his tube in that process the pressure blew the cap off and all his air was gone in one side. With one side collaps he fell out. Good thing Kevin was close enough to help. All gear was rescued the only casulty was a cell phone it got wet. charley was very lucky this could have been much worse. Thanks to Kevin for being close by. i suggest you wear a life vest and tube with a friend. I have been on lots of solo missions in the pass, I think I will stick to the buddy system for now after several years of tubing solo.

Yeah it's also a good thing he wasn't wearing waders they would have pulled him down big time. But yeah the buddy system is the only way I really fish on my toon if solo I usualy go shore

I had a great time. I ended my day with two bass. That was good enough for me as I have never fished freshwater bass.

For me, the small lake was just what the doctor ordered. Not alot of kicking really helped my bad hip.

I say next one, in the salt. We could do Newport Bay or Alamitos Bay or LBC. All have sand we can use as a base camp and free parking. Parking is not always easy to find but, free if you can score it.

Was great day on the water with some great people. Was nice meeting all of you and glad no one got the skunk. Just saw the post about Charley's tubing accident glad he survived it ok, I've lost enough stuff into the water to always keep my car keys and cell phone in a floating pelican box or at minimum a Ziploc with a bit of air inside. Also want to thank Float Tube Fanatics for their generous prizes and can't wait to get mine mounted up and powering my fish finder  

Still trying to figure out how to use the GoPro here is a video of CPT Kirk catching a nice Jess Ranch Bass.
