This should be a good time. I woulda loved to join you guys.

My first tube experience was out of Mother's Beach in the LAB, off of Appian Way and 2nd. I like that spot because there are relief facilities at the boat launch. So handy. The bridge always seems to hold fish.

manyo, you gotta check the LAB by the kayak rentals, they just remodel the restrooms! very nice! just like the ones at mothers beach!

So I was out in the garage getting my stuff ready for tomorrow morning and my son asked," Dad are you going fishing tomorrow? " I told him yeah and he said "LUCKY" LOL. So i told him I'm leaving early do you want to go. And without even blinking he said what do you think kids gotta love them

I'm planning on going. I haven't used my tube in over a year so I'll see you there if there's no leaks in my fc4. Never done salt either, What would you recommend to wear under waders? Is the water cold yet? Thanks!

Water is very nice so board shorts are sufficient
I launched at NPH last weekend and most tubers did not use waders, shorts, t-shirt & fins
Was my first time out so I sported my waders and around 10am wish I didn't!
I don't have fin booties so I'll probably use my waders tomorrow
One tuber in NPH warned me tubing in shorts can cause a rash on the back of the knee just under the hammie. He mentioned to but some type of sports stockings that cover that area

First of all, thank you to dosomedirt for extending the open invitation.  Being new to this board, it was great to get out and meet some of the board members.

At 6:00 am, the weather was perfect, the bay was smooth as glass, the water was warm, but the fishing was tough.  I managed to catch 5 fish--3 sand bass, 1 spotted bass, 1 mackerel.  All the bass were small, and then I had a bunch of short strikes.

As tough as the fishing was, it was a great day to be on the water.

Nice desperado!!! Way to get 5 on a tough day! Smallies beat the skunk too good job

I managed two decent sand bass and one small spotty - released
My first time working the LAB and it was a fun experience.
I only fished an very small portion so I'll for sure be back to LA territory to work the canals

I was gonna question Desperado64 as that looks to me like a Bonita, bet it put a a nice fight for the size.

That's funny you should mention that being a Bonita. Dosomedirt and I were debating whether it was a mackerel or a bonita. Whichever it was, it was the best fight of the day!

It was cool meeting you guys Sunday at the LAB, the weather was nice. Well as for my first time float tubing saltwater, I thought I was going to get skunked after seeing Pacifico, Desperado64, dosomedirt, and david886720 hook up. I was getting so many short bites until I finally set the hook on a small but about 30min later I hook up to a sculpin fish, and yes they both where cpr safely before I forget Thanks dosomedirt for putting this together I had blast even thou it was a tough day. Sorry for the blurred  picture but I cant believe I had a huge finger print on my lens of my gopro   . Well as Pacifico and I were heading out, I cant believe it, My plastic craw got smashed super hard on a moment that I was not paying attention and I was not fast enough to set the hook  Im on a mission now.

Looked like it was a great day out there. I geared up ready to crash the party the night before...little thing called the runs quickly ended my dreams of fishing. Any idea when the next one of these is going to be?

Had a fun time fishing and meeting everyone on Sunday. Hope we can do it again soon
