Had some free time and took the tube out.
2 strikes but i was using light line and did not get a good hook set...rod too flimsy for deep bassin and a larger hook.
3rd strike was able to reel fast enough to keep pressure on and netted a really small bass.
still better than not being on the water.
Fished the sail cover trench area. No rain almost no wind Beautiful day to be on the water
Water temp was 55.
All 3 bites in 35-40ft of water
I did mark some Huge catfish
I dropped the camera down to see what the huge marks were and one of he Cats hit the camera lens
Tough day but no skunk
No trout

Good job on the 1 fish , The bass are in there winter haunts for sure , not the usual spots like the trench or the Tire Reef , this is the time I wish I had a kayak to move around the lake because where the fish are stacked right now its a hell of a kick lol! .

Some of the Big Gal's are still Crusing the shallow's though .. Last spot I saw the trout last week they where on the old swim beach closer to the lifeguard tower (lots 8 and 9) Twisted Evil

What is that bait? Looks almost like the little drop spins that I have used for Bluegill there at Perris.

I make those. they are a bead weighted prop spinner.
they work really good as the prop spins on the way down and the way up
not tried them on blue gill yet but he bass love them

Yes in the tube we are kind of limited in what areas we can fish.
If i could walk better i would launch at the ramp and head to the island area but the walk from the parking lot is a little much when you have waders and your winter time garb on.
I suck at Perris for winter time fishing. Not learned the winter time haunts

Indeed Red , I was on the Island last week S/W side facing the dam and the water is very shallow out to the buoy line , only 6' - 8' and it is nothing but mud heading closer to the island . Off the points in the launch area is a better staging area and has a great drop off and easy access from 3' right on the bank to the buoy line right at 21' and its a short distance for the wolf packs to hunt from .

Possible why the trout are hanging there as well Thumbs Up

Not Really seeing a ton of bait off the points , small schools here and there

Edit : but with a Trout Plant Scheduled this week , The bass should be on the move for sure with the warmer weather !
