Fishy Fingers

Hello FTFF. I joined this forum last year and purchased a tube soon after. I took it out to LAB 2 times and had fun using a single 7'8 spinning rod. Life got busy so I did not have time to get more fishing in after that. New job and schedule means i have Sat. and Sun. off so i am ready to get started again.

I enjoyed my 2 sessions on my tube so much that I decided to put some money aside and get me a couple of dedicated float tube fishing rods for hitting the harbors. I really like the Phenix rods and Shimano reels. I am willing to go up to $350 on each set up. I just need help choosing the right length power and action that would be best for float tube fishing. The Phenix M1s, Recons, and Maxims are the rods with in my budget. I am also willing to get a 3rd set up later in case that helps you all help me in choosing the first 2 sets

I would also like to start stocking up on baits that you all use. I am a bit lost as far as what to use out there. Let me know what you use and how. All I took for my 3 trips were some 3 inch big hammers and some kailin's grubs. I would like to try out different baits and methods.

Please drop me some links to where i can get what you suggest if its not too much to ask.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions and tips.

Reebs Lures [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] YOu can try there Bolt Throwers and the Kelp Sassins are my favorite. Of course the Big Hammer lures you can never have enough of them.
As for rods, I would say a 6' to 7' Medium action rod is the way to go but that is my 2 cents I am sure you will hear more on this soon, welcome back to the dark side.
