I am in the process of mounting some type offish finder to my fishcat and was wondering where is the best location and how far below the water I should mount it.

It can be slightly to the side of your pontoon on the out side. It needs to be completely beneath the water line but be sure it is to the side not underneath as this complicates things when you are try to get out of the water near shore. That is my 2 cents Cool

I have mine on the leftside, behind my rod holder. Transducer is below the bottom of the tube, attached to rod rack. Fish finder is mounted on a swing arm so I can move it around due to sun glare on screen.

Lolly has some photos of his racks. Check them out in the archives.

Mine is only 2 to 3 inches in water when weighted down. Its a few inches from the bottom of the tube so it won't ground out. Its tucked in close so it doesn't get hung up in weed beds very easy.

Its just a pmax 170 so nothing fancy.
