Be careful out there guys

I had a Dr. visit just the other day and it looks like I have skin Cancer. Be sure cover up guys use sunscreen and big hats. It is not worth it. It does not look bad but I am pretty bumped to find out that I have skin Cancer, just wanting everyone to be safe and cover up.

Wow, that's tough news to take. It's the C word that many of us hardly ever think about. As previously stated: hope they caught it early. Keep us updated.

Really terrible news ... it sounds like you may have caught it early.
Is your Dr suggesting treatments to cure it?

I will be following up with my doctor and so far it looks like it is not the type to be to concerned of, but were there is one there are more. Just wanted to make sure everyone keeps themselves covered, when they are out enjoying there fishing. I will keep you all in formed as to how it good and thanks for the support.

As a Cancer survivor, I can tell you the good thing about Cancer: NOT ONE DAMN THING!

Interestingly, my neighbor and long time friend has also been recently diagnosed with skin Cancer as well. He's 73 and spent a lot of time outdoors.

Sorry to hear that Jeff , I always have covered up just for these reasons no one likes the big C word , but if it's Basal Cell Carcinoma which is the most common . If you caught it in good time which it sounds like you have ,then it is easily treated and you can kicks it butt

Soooo...sorry Jeff...I lied...I am posting.

But something came to my attention in the 6 hours I spent at the hospital. The amount of people wearing face masks.

Talking with a buddy of mine up in Minnersoda....( who has also been spending some time in the hospital)....

The conclusion is that tuberculosis is making a comeback.

So...be wewwery careful out there.....(and especially around anyone coughing!)

OK so I finally found out more I have nothing to worry about at this point. I just need to stay covered up and keep and eye on some of these spots. If there are changes and or they begin to bleed then I need to be re checked but for now I am good.

I think it might be good to mention that just covering up might not be as effective as we hope. A regular cotton shirt only blocks about 5% of UV. There are UV blocking additives for the wash or clothing made specifically for UV protection. I'm using the Rit Sun Guard on my fishing shirts and grease up good when I'm getting dressed for the water.

Love that hat! I'm thinking the shade will draw baitfish!
