I set off out in my tube the other week chasing pike as usual but after a couple of hours of nothing I decided to go home grab a light fly rod and go target some rising trout since I'd not been since the trout season in my region started on March the 25th.

I had a cracking afternoon topped by an escapee rainbow trout that gave a great account of itself on my 7' [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], some photos of that session plus a few from the last 2 weeks

We have strange rules on seasons over here, coarse species are currently out of season until June the 16th, a dated rule that most people would like to see changed. The following were by catch but made Tuesdays session up to a 4 species day including trout, grayling, chub and gudgeon

Thanks for looking guys

WOW! That stream in pic [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] looks like a dream spot to fish.
The trout fishing looked fairly productive you have a good spot there.
Now I go and Google grayling, chub and gudgeon.

Thanks for sharing.

I have quite a few small stream spots, probably my favourite form of trout fishing creeping up tiny becks (creeks to you guys) with a 6'9 [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] or 7' [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], I've just ordered a 7' [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] glass rod so I'm looking forward to that arriving.
I found some other shots I missed off, I released a lot of trout without a photo as well lol

And these from an impromptu trip up into the north Yorkshire dales the week before last

Great report! I love stream fishing too, definitely my favorite way to fish for trout. It's like tubing in that you're hunting for the fish, you're not hoping they come to you.

Thanks!
