First blue cat on floatube, first catfish jugging

Caught a smaller female channel cat jugging but it looked ready to drop eggs so i let her go. Fishing Kentucky lake in western ky

Do you fish with a rod and reel while the jug lines are soaking?

I tried to but as soon as i got them set out they started getting hits, and it was to frantic to try to land fish while having the pole in my lap, so i put pole up. In the future will probably take it with me in case it is slow going, but it was nice to just float and watch the jugs while the sun went down, I feel like i miss a lot of the beauty when i am tubing because i am so concentrated on the line.

No jugging for us in California.
We are limited to three hooks on one line to one pole. We can only use 2 poles in freshwater as well. I have looked up from "line watching" to see deer right at the waters edge many times. It makes me wonder what I didn't see.
