I got on the lake today for 2 hours and landed just one.
The lake is up a foot or more from last week and seems to still be rising. I was happy to find lots of brush and cover in the East End of the lake.

Water temp was 63 degrees.

I found this girl in about 8 feet of water

I was working pretty weedless and had trouble setting the hook, but I did get what I was looking for.

Zoom Fluke Stick Jr. Watermelon Magic fished Texas style no weight. I would just toss in and under all the floating reeds and such. There is a lot of stuff floating in the East End as the water rises.

Dan and Rucker, if either of you want to head out or meet up in the next week or 2 the fishing should be picking up. The water temp is usually 65 by April. The bass will be moving shallower each week now.

On a personal note I found some wheels to get my tube to the water till I get a new hip. The point being I am moving pretty slow these days, but I would enjoy fishing with you guys.

or you too Bob

Nice fish , But doubting the water Temp reading there ,  been fishing a lot the last 2 weeks and it is holding steady around 57-58 mid day .. now back in January the water temps where hitting 61 and that is what pushed the first small wave in  Smile

glad to see you made it out and its a short walk down and that you managed a system to get down to the water safely my friend , very nice ... glad you went fishing

Thanks Wes,
That walk on the east end is nothing right now and should stay that way. The lake is higher now than in the last 5 years. I can't wait to get back on my feet again.

Haven’t been to Perris since early last year excited to hear the water level is going up. Thinking about going this Saturday and check it out maybe get some lay of the land for when it’s at full pool.

Dude Jerdon that is a killer set up sir I like the way you attached the wheels to a buggy board to float behind you. You are some kind of smart buddy well done.

Blind luck Jeff,

I had the kayak wheels already. The wheels fit under the Cumberland but they rub if anything moves left or right. I was looking for something to shim the tube up away from the wheels and spotted the boogy board. The boogy board floats just fine with the wheels. I notice it dragging around back there but no problem.

Nice set up! Do you need that boogie board? Wouldn't the air in the tires be enough to float them? Just make sure to spray out the moisture when you get home with an air compressor or WD-40. I alway chain my cart to a tree near the water, but that's over on Bernasconi Road that goes into the lake. It's a great float tube launching spot, but it's still closed! With the rising water, my tree might be underwater in a month or two!

Komori,
The boggie board was to stabilize the Cumberland and keep the wheels from rubbing the tube while I drag it around. It works out that it floats. I was just trying to keep weight off my hips and still drag all my crap to the east end.
