I'm testing a new lure design for halibut this Sunday. Scheduling is forcing a late launch (930am). I'd be obliged to anyone willing to come help. I'll be fishing an area historically known for flatties up to 30lbs. If you want to participate you'll need 1/2 oz heads and a medium heavy rig. Perch grubs also work very well here, I'll also have hand poured grubs in colors I know work. For those you'll want 1/8 to 1/4 oz heads. Only obligation is photos of anything caught on my stuff for the website (faces and names can be witheld).
All that being said, I like the company of fishermen, so if you wanna show up and do your own thing, have at it, glad to have you. A vague rsvp would be nice so I can have enough baits on hand. I won't make the production mold til we have fish on this thing so supplies will be limited.

I dont usually do formal testing but this lure is a bit different. Flat fish imitators are a pain, video of sand dabs in the wild show very little "action" and they just don't move a lot. So it's a very technical lure. Not a "chunk and wind" bait. The angler has to work it. I've resisted doing this bait for years because of those reasons, but it's going to be worth big ling and halibut, and in the end, I have to cater to my customers needs/wants. I just want fish on it before releasing for sale. We'll go for halibut down here and ling among the islands off santa barbara. My main pro staffer is waiting on his care package with "baited" breath lol.
