Hey all,

I've got the Super Fat Cat LCS (Orange/Grey) model with the foam inserts. They're bulky and take up space, so I was interested in the inflatable option: https://www.bobmarriottsflyfishingstore.com/outcast-inflatable-seat-370-000107

I just wanted to see if anyone here has used the inflatable inserts and had good experiences with them. It's a pretty pricey upgrade at $100~+ so want to make sure this is something that would work out before jumping in. Being able to store everything into the big tub I got with less sticking out would be great. It's amazing how much room the foam seats actually do take up. The other issue I have is that they are starting to sag where I sit. I guess you remedy this by flipping the seats or what not, but for extended time in the water it becomes less comfortable too as I find myself readjusting my position more often.

Anyway, let me know what you guys think!

Just FYI but this article seems to be knocking the inflatable seats or at least pointing out their disadvantages: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

The guys I met up north though were saying it's definitely something you *should* get. Just wanted other peoples' opinions though.

I have heard pros ans cons on the inflatable seat. I have only used the foam with the Cumberland. It can get tough but I think its like everything else you need time with it to get comfortable with it.

I have owned 3 V shaped tubes, Cumbie, Super Fat Cat and now a Savage Gear 170. The Cumberland had a hard foam seat and back rest, foam can be removed. The SFC has two inflatable chambers, seat and back rest, both removable. the Savage Gear has inflatable seat and back rest, one piece, removable.
After a few years on the Cumbie I started to get but burn. So the inflatable seat sounded good and for me, it is. I prefer the separate chambers, SFC, because you can deflate as the day progresses. Not able to, valve is on the underside of seat of Savage Gear. So the best of both worlds would be a SFC seat assembly on a Savage Gear tube..........2 cents.....GT

I have owned the Outcast Fish Cat Deluxe-4 FT with the inflatable backrest and seat and now I currently own three Cumberland FT’s with the foam seats.
I prefer the foam seats over the inflatable seats just because of the same reasons in the article that Jeff had posted up.
By the way, it was a well written article, thanx for sharing.
