I’ve been hearing a lot of people use the word “Colors” in reference to depth.
Is this correct?
How do you gauge your depth or “colors down”?
I hear a lot of people saying they’re fishing “6colors down”
“9 colors down”.
How do you know how many colors down?

I am pretty sure these people are talking about lead core trolling line. Every 10 yards the line is a different color. They use boats to troll around.

Yep lead core trolling line is right my Dad use to fish like this back in the day. Trolling with lead core line which was colored.
