Wiggles, waggles, shudders , and especially bumps. I always fish with a lure that moves slowly, displaces a lot of water and produces a lot of low frequency vibration. My all time favorite is a 1/2 once double willow spinner bait. With a 4" or 5"black and silver swimmin fish trailer, slow rolled so the blades are barely turning. I used to kill em in the Oxnard and Ventura marinas. Or a 10" power worm, BLACK. The trick was we did not fish our normal tight structure but looked for the major bottom breaks. At night the fish move out of the shallow tight structure and school tightly seeking the open water ambush points. They feed on the current movement and are much less wary and will strike with commitment! Favorite spots?, breakwater ends and flush points. A flush point is any where the incoming or out going tide are squeezed (incoming) or drawn over a drop off (outgoing) accelerating the flow. You have to be careful at night because these opportune spots are usually on or near the main channels. Don't get run over by a boat!! As always STRUCTURE,STRUCTURE,STRUCTURE!!
