Greetings float tube fisher people. Mike here, retired machinist in wichita, ks. I took up fly fishing and fly tying as a hobby 4 years ago. I bought a water skeeter vision kick boat last summer at a garage sale. I bought some 3mm neoprene diving boots and a pair of cheap flippers to use with this boat. the flippers are really uncomfortable to wear and hard to put on over the boots. I want to get some better flippers to use with these boots.
looks to me like the kind you step into and lace up or strap in would be a better choice for me. most of the flippers
i have looked at on line say they are for use over wading boots.
Anybody use a similar set up?. My concern is that flippers that fit over a wading boot are going to be too big and loose when used on diving booties.
i am also shopping for a float tube to use when I fish small water. The kick boat is ok, but a lot of work to use compared to float tube.
Anyway, I would like some feedback on flippers today.
thanks for reading, see you on the water someday.

Welcome to the forum Mike!!

I would wear the fisn you can afford first of all. You will find out if they are acceptable or not.

I recommend Force Fins if you can afford the price. The Force Fin for Fishing that will fit over any sized boot or shoe is perfect. In one of the articles I detail a comparison of another set of fins I like, the Omegas. In the first article is a question and answer  post on sizing fins to fit over booties. The last article is a search on fins, it gives a lot choices and information.

Here are links to a few articles here.

Welcome aboard Mike.

I agree with the above replies, that the information links will be a great help to you and your research.

I prefer Force Fin’s but not everybody does.
When you finally decide on your fins, I’m sure you’ll be very happy with them.

I look forward to reading some exciting fish reports from you in the near future.

SP Dan
