Does anyone use the old school paddle pushers in a u  or open ended tube? If so do you find it harder to use them compared to a round tube? I prefer to move forward when fishing not backward so I use the paddle pushers, It seems they not work so well as in the open ended style you set higher and would be kicking with just your calves and not your whole leg hanging down in more of a walking motion.

You are correct and in addition to that the round tube is easier to lean forward in making the leg movement more effective with paddle pushers. Aside from preferring the truck tube as my float platform over bladders (buoyancy), I prefer the forward arm rest ability of the enclosed tube. I'll bet the number of guys here using round tubes or paddle pushers is very small given the type of fishing many do and where. But now we know there's two of us. lol

I agree HNTFSH myself I wish I could find another old school canvas tube. I like setting lower in the water and as stated above moving forward is IMO the only way to go! Maybe move of the Paddle Pusher users will chime in on this thread. BTW I just scored some brand new paddle pushers off ebay. But they are just a little bit narrower than my older set by almost .25". Now I'm looking to purchase some new waders and new bladders for my backrest luckily the tube is in good shape still but its easy to find a tube to fit every tire shop has them. yeah I've neglected my tube fishing the last 3-4 years due to fishing out of the Skeeter. But i miss the tube and want back in it.

Yeah I've seen them. I'm really not looking for a NEW round tube the couple i have are in good shape just need new bladders for the back rest the inner tube is pretty easy to find and cheap at a tire shop .. Really not sure on sizing on the backrest bladders though. Does bucks bags give any discounts to members of the forum ??
