1Velcro tape on Cumberland? Empty Velcro tape on Cumberland? Tue May 25, 2021 12:54 pm

Hello,

I am considering "attaching" a couple of Plano boxes to my Cumberland using Velcro tape. Has anyone tried doing this? It seems to me that it should work and the space between the the storage compartments and the end of the tubes is the perfect size for the Plano boxes I use.

Thanks!

I think it would work I just wonder how well the tape would stick.  Can you find someone that can sow a strip of Velcro on.  If it was sowed in that would I think be safer.  Just my 2 cents  [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I agree with Jeff.
Take your air bladders out and take your FT down to your local shoe repair cobbler. He has Velcro and he can sew it on.

Good luck

I bought some fabric glue at Walmart and that kept the velcro stuck to the tube nicely (I got the idea from a website in which a fellow glued oarlocks to his Cumberland).  So, the tackle boxes stay in place, are located in an accessible spot, and that frees up a bunch of room in the storage pouches on the tube.  So far, I recommend doing this if you are a bit strapped for room.
