Hello from San Diego

Hello all,

My name is Dan from San Diego.  I was born and raised in Colorado and have fished my whole life and been float tubing since 1975 or so.  

I moved to California in the Navy in 1985, and tubed most of the regional lakes and bays, athough admittedly took a hiatus for the last 15 years or so.  Business and personal life taking precedence.

I am just getting back into it, and in fact,  pulled my early model Fish Cat out of mothballs this week.  I am working on making it sea worthy by replacing Bostom valves etc.

I am also from SD. I have been fishing for a few years and about to complete a year with my tube. Look forward to seeing you up and floating.. And maybe see you on the water one day.

Thanks brother, and it would be fun to meet up as I get back into it. I live full time in an RV and have been fishing the past year out of an inflatable Sea Eagle at Otay, El Capitan, San Vicente, Hodges, Murray and Mission Bay. It is fun but I miss my float tube very much. I can't wait to get back into it.

Since you are in SD, look into Barrett lake for tubing. $20 for tubers. Tickets thru ticketmaster, protected fishery, Wed, sat, sun only, barbless hooks. One of the Best Northern Strain Largemouth fisheries anywhere. I usually make the drive down from Torrance weekly until it gets too hot.

Yeah I have been looking at Barrett for years. I really need to get there sometime! I drive by it once every 3 weeks or so.

Welcome Dan. I’m looking to head over to San Diego area to explore and find new water to do some tubing. So keep us posted wish some fishing updates.

I have just relocated down to Ramona in San Diego county and I am looking to get my feet wet again. Would anybody be interested in having an ol’ marine join them in SD?

Well, my new tube arrived!  It's pretty cool.  SP Dan I have some things to do Saturday, but I am thinking about heading to Otay this Sunday for some bass fishing.  This Navy Corpsman would be happy to fish with a Marine.
