Hi All,
I started fly-fishing from a float tube back in the 1990s when I was living in PA. That was the old “square donut” type and not the best platform to fly cast from, but it got me into the abandoned quarries and small ponds to chase bass and bluegills.
Relocated to Utah in 2010 and picked up a Caddis Premiere for fly fishing trout on mountain lakes. That lasted about 5 years before the stitched seam came apart while floating a small lake at 10,000 feet. Replaced that with a Classic Accessories Cumberland tube which lasted all of 22 trips before the bladder leaked via hole along the seam.
Just last weekend my wife convinced me to upgrade… enter the Escape Series Zonker Lo Pro X from Dave Scadden Paddlesports. I can see already that this is a whole new animal versus previous vessels. I can’t wait to get it out on the water… after making a few modifications of course (rod holder, mount for my Garmin, etc.).
Looking forward to exchanging ideas here and learning from the masters!
-Joe
