First limit at Corona 10/29/11

Got in line at 4:45 Am and met up with phising phool. I'm in the water at 6:30 and head to the dam area, temp 65^. Slow at first but finally hook into my largest of the day, 2.46#. The shore line guys are catching them but slower for tubers and boaters. So we head south. NC's, power mouse, and PW's are the ticket. All fish caught in less then 8 feet of water and 67^. Beautiful color to the fish. Still trying to get my trout legs under me, different bite then all of those sunfish at Perris. Only farmed one due to poor leader line, threw that old spool away. Thanks to phising phool for showing me the ropes out there. 10.5 Lb total weight.

Side note, two of the bigger fish had small rocks in the stomachs and intestines. The pebbles were the size of a small egg sinker. Never saw that before, one had 4-5 in the gut.

Right on kelster sounds like a good time. I need to get out there and get some trout.

Very nice, So give us the low down for trout?? Size hooks, test for line, best area?? I have always wanted to fish for trout but need a good teacher like the one you foud to show me the ropes. I still think this Lake needs to be the next fishing trip for the crew.

BBQ with some wood chips, meat just falls off of the bones. I use 2# test, #10 hooks with half NC or power worm, #18 treble and make a power mouse, white or green worm and rainbow PB. The trout are shallow there for now and I had my best luck down at the south end. I just get on a lake and kick/paddle until I meter fish or start getting bites. The pattern is always changing so you just need to get out there and hunt. It is nice when there are two of you so that you can have 4 different types of presentations going. I'll probably go back out in a couple of weeks.

those do have some nice color to them good jobi want to head out there again but to much $$ for me right now

Thanks for the report I agree the next meet up should be at corona or Irvine. Got all my trout gear setup and looking for the first trip.

Nice fish! got some good color and actually have tails "unusual for pay lakes".

You guys hit Irvine Lake let me know I live 5 min from there.

Do they allow you to night fish at Irvine? I mean if we put in 6 hours at the lab relax and get on the water at Irvine say around 6 I could do that!
