Hey guys,
Slow down huh, Hmm,...
Did you notice what time of year they were fishing ? looked pretty cold. A slow retrieve during the fall and winter is standard fair back East but they have the advantage of dark and shallow water. Out here in the West even during winter our water temps are 5-10 degrees warmer and our water, gin clear. The crank bait is a reaction bait that attracts bites because it stimulates aggression. Keeping in mind what these guys are saying, try a rip and stall technique or medium short rip retrieve. You want to crash into the cover and create as much
commotion as possible but stall so the fish can have an opportunity to commit and bite without exerting to much effort pursuing the bait. Try smaller slimmer baits and lighter but stiffer line. Flouro is a good choice because it helps baits suspend and is a better cold weather line.

hope this helps
