There's been a ton of discussion on here about making them yourself. Usually guys are looking to add enough PVC so they can carry multiple rods, a net, camera mount etc.

This is a pretty cool set up posted by a member here named socaltexan:

His is pretty elaborate though. For something a bit easier/simpler just pick up some PVC piping from home depot (extremely cheap) and some fittings. Before you go have a basic design in mind...do some searches on the site here and I'm sure you'll get some good ideas. From there just build away...it's very easy to do. One of the biggest pieces of advice given to me that I can give to you is to not glue it until you are certain that you are happy with it. Even then, you don't really have to glue it as long as you make sure the pieces are tight before each trip. Good luck

I know it's not a single but my first rod holder was three rod Berkley rod holder. If you're interested I can take some pics so you can do it. Pretty much all you have to do is add eye bolts and bungee and that's it

Here's a picture of it on the tube. That was my go to set up until I stepped my game up and bought a Cumberland. Now I have a fully custom rod rack

There are dozens of float tube mods out there as I have been tearing up the web getting ideas over the past couple of weeks. If one rod holder is all you require check into the White River strap on. Be sure is thier updated version easily identified by its 2 tone color black & red. I have the early and late versions and will most likely still be using them even after I get my side racks built.
