My rod saver

i have heard of some people almost losing there rods while on there tubes and and i didnt even want to chance it so i made a little rod leash the lease if from a saftey kill switch i had laying aruond there for jet skis and for it to stay on the rod i got velcro loops from walmart works really well dosent get in the way when casting or retrieving heres some pics

very nice simple but effective now there is no more worries will tubing the drink. Really nice work buddy.

How did u crimp the loops? Is that a standard ferrule?

I was going to do something very similar.. basically Waxon's idea, with phone handset cords.

Its a jet ski kill switch but they sell the crimps at home depot I saw them when I was making another phone cord sounds like a good idea the only thing with that is it will strecth really easy and then it will be just a cord no recoil to it

Ya home depot its next to the wire and chain its used to clamp safty wire I'm gonna try out the phone cord

Lol I got bored I was airbrushing somthing for my fiance and had extra paint so I decided to paint the handle I'm gonna do one of my other reels but with black chrome

i zip tie these on my poles, i also got one of those clips that i just clip on when im fishing or have it to the side,..

At we sell those lanyards at work there about 8 bucks and there pretty nice but kind of expensive but they work great I will try to find a picture

I used old phone cord from the head set to the base and snap swivels.

I've seen people make some rod leashes out of those .99cent cellphone chargers at the .99cent store.

To look at it positively, it was one less thing I had to carry back to the truck....

Dude I am so sorry for your lose, I am sure there are a lot of good memories with that set up. There is always a silver linning to all stiuations, now you can get a new one

nope!

While fishing the SBS last saterday night i was netting a grump of a fish for my teamate, he starts yelling "your rod"!! i look over at my rod and it was sinking... My 400te/calcutta rod down to the abyss, we tried with treble hooks with no luck!! Last night, 4 days later we hit the spot one more time to see if we can get it. After 20 minutes i called it off but my buddy said one more cast," i said why not" he starts yelling im hooked up, i look over he hooked my braided line and out comes my rod/reel!! F'n AWESOME.....
