I inflated my Caddis Wyoming for the first time today. Mostly to check it out and get familiar with it. I noticed the pvc pipe that is used for the stabilizer bar has some pretty sharp ends. It came with styrofaom but I think that was for shipping. Even with that it seems the sharp ends would poke through. I'm a little worried about the sharp edges eating away at the material and eventually puncturing the tube. I've wrapped the sharp edges with duct tape to hopefully remedy this. Am I being overly paranoid?

I don't know anything about that tube but just like anything else with sharp edges, just sand it down

Thanks Miller,

I may try that if the duct tape doesn't work.

Yeah what Miller said just take a file or a belt sander to the edges and soften or round them out a bit. It's pretty common for stabilizer bars to have sharp edges since they just 45 them with a chop saw and call it a day.

Ditch the duct tape, it will work for awhile but it will cut through that eventually and then make a sticky mess from the adhesive.

My Togiak was the same way. The ends were pretty dang sharp. I just worked them with a flat file to make them a little less abusive on my tube.

Cant be too careful in a toob, I would think.
Better to worry, now than swim like hell for shore, later.

The Caddis Nevada has the same issue. Filing it down is the only option.
