Green bass Monday at the pig pen.,....

Ohh yes. Finally some time to get after what I want... getting some time on the water. Hit the freshwater haunt for the second time to see if I could get some good top water bites....Made the walk in at sun up, and starting throwing the frog to warm glassy water. Fish were hitting the surface out in the depths, but not near the tules. I kept at my plan for nothing. I switched it up to a fluke when i saw some fish working near the tules. Nothing, nothing at all. not a tap. So I switched up to the pumpkin black flake waky rigged senko.. Only a few casts later .......tic tic boom. fish on. When I set the hook, the fish was already under the tube....seems to be the theme for the day. ALL fish that hit the bait were bull dogging it into the depths before you could set the hook. This made for alot of fish popping off and dropped baits. I couldnt set the hook fast enough. unreal. Had a few fish that ran the drag hard then felt like I broke off, nope hook popped. kept up with the same deal. finished the day off with 18 fish to the tube, and a bunch of missed opportunities..... :cry:long story short the big green bass wheer after the wacky rigged black with green flake..If I didn't get bit on the sink it took a few twitches to get them to go. afew fish I could see come rushing out of the tules making them shutter as they came to the bait. It was cool to see...Got out around 10:30. man those tubes are alot heavier wet.lol.

Thanks guys. For a river pond these fish are healthy and do have great color. They are super agressive and had several hooked in the roof of the mouth. Will probably go barbless next time. Just in case.
