Big Bear Lake

Anybody here ever float tube big bear lake. Heading out there this sunday and wanna know some info. May i float tube that lake without waders? Where to launch from? All help is much appreciated...thanks

I'm interested in this topic too. Big Bear is an easy drive from Las Vegas, but I still haven't been there. I think about it every year, but I always seem to end up someplace a little more remote (Sierras, Utah, or Northern Nevada). I would love to see a report on how your trip goes. Tight lines!

I'm heading to big bear lake right now. I'll stay on my friends cabin and fish tomorrow at 6am for bass. Then go home for a brake and come back for over night fishing for catfish. There are 2 ramps on the south side of the lake. West and east. both are open this season. and the east closes on winter. You can pay to launch at any ramp,they'll give u a sticker, with it you can launch any where in the lake that you want. Waders or no waders is up to you. Water contact is allowed.
I'll be fishing of a aluminum boat with a lady. If u have more Q? Hit me up. 562-274-1726 Eddie I'll be fishing Sunday too till...?

Yeah me and my bro in law are heading there in the morning...prolly get there around 6am...going to try to get me some trout action...hopefully, but if that dont work...lmb's where ever i can find them...

here`s my report... I fished sat morning for bass on my friends aluminum boat. she is good at fishing trout but when im fishing for bass, she gets bored, frustrated and annoying! "That frog doesnt work, is too shallow and too much weed here, there`s nothing there"...etc So i couldnt do my best. saturday= 0 bass Then we went back at 7pm with the plan to fish all night for cat fish. after 4 hours she got cold so we left home. sat night= 0 cat fish. But luckly I brought my float tube! so next day I said see ya!! launch my tube with my doggy and fished from noon till 7:30pm cought 2 LMB 2lbs on my frog on my last hour. sunday= 2 bass found another tuber doing fly fishing. I think he did better than me.
Im having tech. issues with pic up loading. I`ll try to fix it soon. sorry kg lol

There's a handicap pier in boulder bay, lots of grass down below and there are some big bass in that area, be sure to fish it weedless if your going for bass in that area, but beware of the lake lice on that pier they don't seem to read English, the sign says no overhead casting, but they still do it. Just besure to purchase your lake permit before going in, if the lake patrol shows up and you don't have it you can buy it from them, I think it's 15 bucks.
