eldorado park 10/22/12

Decided to hit the park up today with squidy. Weather was cold and breezy we fished the third lake around trees and bushes for nothing then I thought to myself that the bass was probably in deeper water where it might be a lil warmer for them so I threw my ds roboworm towards the middle of the lake and sat the pole against the tree and for a second so I can throw my weight less senko around , all of a sudden I see a lil twitch in my line and I droped the senko rod and grab my ds rod then I feel the line getting tight ..set the hook and fish on! Took a pic and released a nice size bass did the same thing and hooked up to another bass a really small one... here's a pic of the bass

El D is a tough place to fish. I've fished there for more than a few yrs. In the last 2 yrs. the lakes have gone downhill, with some pretty sizable die offs. There are still some decent bass in there. I prefer the ranger lake, the last bass I caught was a solid 7lb'r, have aso got a bunch of 5+ lb'rs too. Luck plays a big part of getting the bigger girls..BTW, there is no magic lure, I've caught bass on everything from DS, chatter baits, spinnerbaits, craw baits, lizards and swimbaits, but my biggest cam on a split shot rig..

nice work i was there one time with dan hernadez kids fish thing and my daughter caught a 20 carp that had another lure in its mouth it was the catch of the day

I've always wanted to catch a carp but don't know what to use ...have anybody fished that lil pond to the right after you enter the park?

Corn or dough works really good for carp...but more that that is patience having to wait for them to bite especially the bigger ones can take a while...
