Irvine take two

I literally can't stop thinking about the next time I can go out and tube. So I decided I couldn't take the anticipation of fishing again and just went out. It was a nice mellow, cloudy morning, no wind and the water was crazy glassy. It was a beautiful day. How ever not a whole lot of action. A couple bass hooked on trout worms lol, but they spit the hook after a series of jumps. I got one trout on a orange trout worm, he was about a pound. It was a nice short session. I can't wait to fish again. I think I might want to try one of the harbors like Huntington since it's right down the street, just a little skeptical since I haven't tubed a harbor/bay yet. I hope you all had a great day.

Mikeotunakiller, now you did it! Just heading out and catching fish on a minutes notice, thats one of the beauties of tubing. Good job !

Haha I want to really bad...don't really have any set ups for it lol...i guess i can use one of my trout setups and maybe my inshore setup that has a calcutta 400 on a shimano inshore idk lol might be over kill lol...prob just do it any way lol...i have been reading that HH is tough because of the current? Do you suggest I should try some where else?

Go with your trout set up for now and once you've tried it, you'll be looking for bass gear no doubt. Try the LAB. Very accessible and there's a lot of fishy areas. Then hit up sd and you'll be like damn. Where did all these fish come from. My buddies and I hit up sd bay this past Sunday and totally annihilated the SBB. it was basically wfo. I didn't post up a report because it wasn't in our tubes. But I will be tubing it real soon and that's for damn sure.   

Awesome! thank you for the tips. Is there a specific launching point in LAB or is it just find a good spot and go? Never been to LAB before so don't know that area real well.

How much is it to launch the tube at irvine?

Irvine is just the admission fee, $24... There is no extra cost for launching with a float tube like SARL.

yeah i wanna try some harbors also but idk if my pontoon and rowing without a trolling will be to fun getting stuck in the wind in the middle of the ocean lol

start at 6am to 9am. end with 12pm to 3pm. decent swing. fish the stinky. drop shot the goods. swing on everything. bounce your junk off expensive boats.

harbor fishing is good.
