SFD 1/5/15

I arrived at SFD around 7:30 AM and no one to collect fees. So I cruzed the park and ended up at the boat launch where I had a conversation with the patrol boat officer about fees. NO vechile fees until March 1, but I had to drive back to the office and purchase a no motor boat tag for $7, what a deal! So I hit the water around 8:30 AM. and went straight across the lake to the rocky shoreline, went east towards the reeds with a few bumps on various lures. I then turned back and tubed the center of the lake towards the island, using a chrome and blue, 1/2 oz L-Trap. Only 11 ft. in depth and lots of weeds. So I hit the backside of the island and found a spot with fish, LMBs. Out of the water by 12:30. Talked to some of the locals and said second island, north end of lake was kicking out some nice LMBs on purple worms, drop shot. Here are some picks.......GT

for sure, i was there about a year ago and i was told too throw the trap and before you knew i was on...i thew a rapala style one...good stuff...

Anytime Jeff. BTW, I'm at a concert the 21st of Feb. That would have been my baptism for tubing salt. Maybe the next one.

Nice report GT! Some fish is better than no fish! Keep at it, there are some good ones in that lake.
