Hello I am new to float tube fishing I could use advice on which tube to purchase I need a heavy weight rating I am open to recomendation's any advice is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the board of floaters, go for the Fishcat 4 or the ODC 420 Creekcompany, infact if you want the ODC 420 I can get you one just P.M. me and I will talk with you about it. There are alot of good float tubes out there those are the ones I like and are most widly used.

thanks I like the cumberland because of the 350# rating but I am still open for suggestion

There is a tube called the Prowler that is steep in price but is really nice. And has a high weight capacity let me see if I can find it and post a link for you.
But the cumberland is a very nice set up talk to ed5000x that is what he has right now. I will be right back.

This a really nice tube I have seen it before the cost freaks me out or at least my wallet. But it is a very nice set up check it out.

That thing is awsome what are the diffrence's between the two? What kind of things do you look for when you bought your's

Price is the factor for me, my last tube was off of craigslist $75. But the more money you put into your first tube the happer you will be that is what most people will say.
The diffenece between the two tubes size I thing the prowler is bigger and may weight alittle more. There is also a Camel back in the Prowler and the cumberland comes with to cup holders I guess that is not a big deal though. Both are great from what I have heard but one is cheeper then the other, good luck bro. fact is you cannot go wrong with either one of those.

price is a factor I seen some used ones also one of them you recommended the ODC 420 Outdoor Discovery Craft for 180.00

Don't know what the weight is on the one but it is my choice. I just like the over all setup about it and one day I will have one.

well this is one of my toys i like it its fast easy to move throw the water and it helped me recue my son when he flipped
I leaned on one side grabbed my boy and picked him up high enough to put him back into his tube my weight is 205 not counting gear and his weight is 120 lbs it did a great job of supporting that situation (foregive my spelling ) i have a lot of great things too about my cumberland but i also have a big horn it is very stable and very comfortable it a recliner is roomy and lot of storage and i am a tacklewhore so i love it

very good and safe for salt i think. i sit about 2 inch in the water in the set area dont bad i think and it moves really good , not fast as cumberland but it does alright

I used to fish there. I used to live in Sunland so I went to the dam a lot. Also Castaic was my fishing hole too. Have you ever fished anything close to the dam - if you know what I mean?

When we were younger we used to go over the dam and fish we also use to fish the various ponds along wentworth. I had more luck there than Castaic.
