Fly rod holder mounts

Just wondering how the guys who take multiple fly rods out have gone about adding mounts for fly rods?

I've built my mount for finder etc but want a couple of rod holders so I can then take 3 line options to cover various depths.

I was initially think of putting a slot down some tube so I could slot the rod down but realised there's very little clearance between the reel foot to the spool and the largest diameter of the grip so I'm doubting this way will work.

I've thought about just making small holders on my lower frame to just seat the fighting butt and the reel foot then some slit and drilled/punched eva foam on the top of the frame hoping that should be secure.

If anyone has any suggestions and solutions I'd be happy to hear them.

Mscustomflies e-mail me your pictures I will post them for you. Sorry I am not able to change that feature so I will help out also have you looked at TeamFishco. site yet. They make a rod holder with some fly rod adapters, maybe you can get some ideas from them. Or maybe simple buy the fly rod holder and figure out how to add them to your rack.

Thanks jerdon, hopefully the mounts I've just cut will work need to trial fit a rod in one

Once it's fully rigged I'll post photos by which time I should of been registered 7days and be able to add attachments

This is my progress so far everything is cut and slotted together, rod mounts are cut and the rods feel secure in them.

Still to do drill and screw all the joints to the conduit, decide where to mount the transducer arm and retain maximum strength, mount my work station on the raised area with some clips, mount my finder onto the workstation, figure the best rear facing angle to mount the rod holders and finally sew the webbing strap/buckles to mount it around a bladder

Is that PVC?
I'm looking at the corners and junctions and see the screws/bolts.
When you say conduit I think steel.
And while I'm asking did you use a dremel tool to make those cutouts?

It's 20mm pvc electrical conduit the elbows are inspection bends so they have removable inspection plates. I'll drill and use self tappers on the outside through the elbows and into the pvc.

I should of used a dremel but I was at work so just grabbed the angle grinder with a grit flap disc then filed and sanded any edges

More progress made, just need to finish sewing the buckles and loops in the webbing strap

Yes I reckon I can probably shorten it a bit yet but want to get it out on the water first and see how it all sits
