Hey all,

Recently joined the forum and have been a lifelong fly fisherman. Grew up in the PNW but now in Omaha. Anyone else a fly fisherman in the Midwest and can share some advice on catching bass, pike, etc.?

I'm also into fly tying and would love to connect with others that are also.

Thanks,
Mark

Cool there are flyfishermen here sir and there are some good tiers as well. I am sure they will chime in soon. Maybe in time we can set up a fly swap they are fun if you have never tried one you should.

I love the idea of the fly swap! That would be a great way to get exposure to new patterns, tying techniques and all around connections.

Hi Mark,

I know this is coming a bit late as you posted back in July, but I just joined the forum on Aug. 31 and just this moment discovered "Flyfishing Corner". Smile I live in Michigan and fish for bass, pike and bluegills all the time. I started tying flies when I started fly fishing, so I've been doing both for 20 years as of this year. I'd be up for a fly swap sometime, but it would have to be later this year, as I'm hosting one swap and participating in another on a fly tying forum, plus I'm teaching a fly tying class in October and November, so between that and work I'll be tied up (pun intended Smile ) for a while.
I am jealous of your upbringing in the PNW -- that is where I've always said I want to go after retirement! Perfect climate for me and year-round fishing, can't beat that.
So, give us a shout back here, or shoot me a PM or whatever -- I'm always up to talk fishing. Smile
Cheers,
Bryon
