California Boaters Cards

I am sure you have heard anyone operating a motorized boat "including sailboats and Paddle Crafts" will need to have a Boater Card. Looks like this will take effect January 2018. You can receive your card for a lifetime it only cost $10. Is anyone else going to get the there card? I think I will so that I don't have to worry about it in the future and so I don't have to worry about the State raising the fee's later in years to come. What do you think and are you getting yours?

I will be getting mine for sure , as next year I am still not 100% decided if I want to buy a small boat or a kayak , I am leaning kayak as I want the activity level associated with one and only really fishing one body of water you know ..

Really like the Perception Pescador Pilot , good price point and has all the features I need to move around my body of water in a timely manner , especially once the water raises .

I was not considering it till you brought it up here. 
I do have a kayak but I had figured it has no motor.
