Bummer Trip

Went on a 3/4 day boat yesterday out of Dana Harbor. All I caught was one sandy (which sucked), but to top it off someone stole my daiwa baitcaster off the rack. That pissed me off so bad!

Sorry for no pics but the trip wasn't that good it was just a crappy day out there, but still better then going to work!

Dang! That is bull$!*#!!! That is why I do not like to take more than one rod. I have but it always makes me nervous. Captain should have held up the boat until it was returned. They have been known to do that before. That plines me off! Dude that sucks.

I would have done the same hold that boat up until the rod was returned. Sorry it was such a bad day on the water for you monster. Very nice waxon "plines me off" see I know there was a joke in there some where.
Don't let that keep you from those boats Monster, just learn from it and make sure you don't let it happen again.

Yea bro I Have a friend who that happen to and the capt. will hold up the boat for sure because that his money he dont make if that happen and the word gets around and some times the reel or pole will be either thrown over board or they will hit it under something so they dont get caught. its mess up i feel bad too just hearing that kinda of story sorry bro

Very good point Ed. Cap'ts don't want that kind of publicity. Always like to bungee my combo to the rail at my number or else it's in my hands. But I have put a spare combo on the rack before. I think those days are over. I like to mark my gear too just in case I have a my word against someone Else's situation. In a place someone won't notice easily. But Monster, all the woulda, coulda and shoulda don't make it feel any better and it doesn't undo what happened.

Yea I let the crew know someone took the reel but they said there is nothing they could do. I'm sure as soon as the person took it off my pole it went straight into a bag.

Well i would have told the capt. it might have been one of the crew members i dont know that just the way i think exspecailly if the didnt want to help

Sorry to hear about the lousy fishing and stolen reel, that would have been the breaking point for me. I would have taken it up with the captain and if he didn't do anything about it I would have just told him fine I'll just give you bad publicity on every forum I happen to be on and warn everyone about your shotty business practices and customer treatment.

Sounds crazy but they do sell small cable locks that are just small enough to fit through a bait caster and around a eyelet on the rod or around a railing. I used to use them while pier fishing and had to answer the call of nature.
