Perris Tues 3-19

Searched all over the newer flooded areas of Perris east and north of the island trying to find any crappie or even the big Bluegills and Redears. Nothing. Only saw a few fish on the depth finder. Didn't go back into the thick trees and brush. Tomorrow might hit the west/southwest side of the island, or maybe along the dam. Didn't fish for bass, they might have been biting.

I was at Perris on Monday chasing bass and was surprised to get skunked. I was approached by several boaters and a couple of shore pounders who all shared the same story. No bass shallow or on the beds in the East end or Bernasconi to report. We were all certain the bass would be up by now. I have not caught a bass in less than 27 feet since last August.

I did come across a couple of spots like this.

Looks like they are staging. Might be worth a shot to rip some jerk baits or some Carolina rigs. It was the same story shore pounding puddingstone sunday. Saw some fish; but no takers

I did see a guy hook and land a 5 pounder at the marina docks dropshotting a 6 inch "Morning Dawn" Roboworm, and another guy caught a 2 pounder also on a drop shot rig. We'll see what happens on Wednesday..

I was out at Perris 2 weeks ago and between 3 of us I was the only one to catch two bass. Both microbass I mean I couldn't even thumb the lip of one it was so small but both in about 12' of water. Hopefully it warms up before the 30th for you guys out there.
