Went back to LP for the second day in a row.  Cool water - 59degrees, but finally found some Bluegill.  Broke in my new JDM Mebaru 7' 6" rod (thanks Sonny!) with this 1 1/4 lb Bluegill.  Fish hit a 1/48 oz.belly spinner jig on 2 lb test line. This rod is super light with a solid graphite tip and is very sensitive.  I've never fished a rod like this before.  The Japanese Domestic Market offers some outstanding fishing rods that the United States manufacturers just don't make.

That is cool about the rod you are using show us some pictures when you get the chance. As for finding the Gill great job, someday I will find the PL Gills and have some fun as well. Guess I need to fish there more if that is ever going to happen.

Congratz on the gill and the new rod.

Looks like the water temp wants to sneak up to 60 soon. I hope you get the picture thing figured out soon and thanks for sharing.

These expensive Japanese rods are designed to fish for the Mebaru, a type of rockfish or bass caught off the rocks and jetties in Japan. The tips are designed for extremely light bites. My rod is rated for 2 to 6 lb test line and is very strong, made to pull fish out of the rocks, and like I found out yesterday, the newly submerged brush and trees at Perris!

Komori,

What time did you get off the water? There was some pretty good hail here yesterday afternoon.

It was about 12;30 or so. Saw the rain coming from the south, so heading back in. With my high-carbon rods, I don't want to get hit by lightening!
