Here is a heads up for the Perris Event.
Dan asked me about this earlier today.

There are some closures on the 60 Freeway heading West.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Coming eastbound to the the Lake from LA or OC should be no problem, but heading westbound the 60 is Closed between the 15 and 215. My suggestion is to use Van Buren or the Central/Alessandro interchanges at the 91.

I hope this helps

Thanks, guys for the heads up on this Dan text me this morning as well. I come up the 91 normally but you could also take the 57 to the 10 and head to Perris from the backside. I cannot remember of the top of my head what off-ramp you take from the 10 Fwy.

Sign me up for Perris.

The Powercove lot where the PWC ramp is at has been closed the last 2 Friday's I was out there. This is normal for the slow season to only have 1 or 2 lots open in each section. You never really know which one will be open until you get there.

So I guess the goal is to park as close to the ramp as possible?

The water is down 17.6 feet from the max earlier this year. It was a pretty drastic drop late summer and has finally stabilized the past month. The shoreline is all pretty firm in the cove for launching. The lake was down 43.6 feet in 2016. Expect lows 60's for water temp.

I circled the bathrooms and porta potties and marked the gates for those not familiar.

What time is the event kicking off at Perris? If it starts early enough (0600-1100) put me on both lists. Otherwise. I'll swing down to Perris to donate some toys and say good luck!

Any toy suggestions? I have no kids and have no clue what kids like. I know what I'd have wanted as a kid but I don't think fireworks or a pellet gun are very appropriate for something like this.

Trucks, cars, dolls, legos, nerf stuff and you cant go wrong. Board games, football, soccer ball, action figures. My daughter wasnt into dolls at all only nerf guns so I'm not much help there.

BobBfishin nailed it on the head any of his suggestions would work just fine. Also, a ride and reel combo is a good idea. There was a member that would normally send 2 setups one for a girl and one for a boy. Hope this all helps.

I had a fantastic time meeting up with friends from the previous events and with all of the regulars of FTFF. It's always good times when we can gather as a large group.

Lots of toys were donated by the attendees making this year's Toy Drive at Lake Perris a success in my books!

We had a very nice turn out and I didn't get skunked again like last year. My 13 7/8" trophy LMB![You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
